Collaboration with Mark Wagner
Together artists Mark Wagner and Stacey Lee Webber combined their unique money techniques to develop a haunting series of cameo jewelry titled, Washington Collaboration. The collection combines vintage American silver quarters and distorted one dollar bills to confuse the familiar imagery of the iconic US founding father George Washington.
Mark Wagner is an American artist best known for meticulous collages made of United States banknotes, such as the portrait of Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Ben Bernanke, composed exclusively of one-dollar bills, in the collection of the US Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery. Enlighten Collection
The Enlighten Collection primarily highlights circulated vintage American coins which feature historic artists depictions of the lady liberty. The silver coins have been hand cut with a jeweler’s saw and chained together to showcase commemorative iconography of powerful women. The collection is finished in 14ky gold vermeil and accentuated with freshwater pearls and fair trade Mediterranean coral.
'A Brooche for Kamala Harris’ featuring Indian, Jamaican and American coins highlighting her heritage was created within this series and collected by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2020.
Collaboration with Oscar De La Renta
Stacey Lee Webber teamed up with Oscar de la Renta to create a unique artist capsule of jewelry made of antiqued vermeil coins for their Spring 19 ready-to-wear collection. The ODLR Spring 19 collection of clothing and accessories was inspired by historic travelers on the the silk road, an ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean Sea linking China with the Roman Empire. Please visit ODLR to view all of the looks from the Spring 19 collection. All model photos are courtesy of ODLR. All designs in this capsule are property of Oscar de la Renta.
